3 May 2009 Hutt pour on more heat in Tauranga by (NZWP website).
Hutt poured on more heat during their weekend game against the Tauranga Taniwhas in Mt Maunganui when they engulfed the host 29-10 in a high scoring entertaining match.

Hutt's trio of Simon Young, Kiran Davis and Adam Pye all went home with 5 goal hauls whilst Mitch Halquist netted 4. Kurt Wilson proved himself again with a 6 goal scoring spree for the home side after Tauranga trailed 7-14 at the half time break - however Hutt raced away in the second half registering 15 goals to Tauranga's 3.

Hutt next faces up to Harbour City Hawks and Marist Magic in what are expected to be close fought encounters in Wellington. Both matches in the first round ended in one goal margins for the victors.
25 Apr 2009 The Heat roasts Maranui
Hutt again poured heat on Maranui when they won the return match in National Mens League at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre last night beating Maranui 18-8 in the process. Jack McGuinness made his debut for the Heat in the big smoke.  Maranui started with a close first quarter over the Hutt side to trail 3-5 but Hutt's second quarter shut out of Maranui saw the score quickly accelerate to 10-3 at the half and probably put the result beyond doubt. Maranui staged a little bit of a comeback but Hutt quickly regained momentum to run out 10 goal victors at 18-8. For the third game in a row Adam Pye top scored for Hutt with 5 goals whilst Kiran Davis found the back of the net 4 times and Clint McLaughlin coming in with 3. Hunter de Groot and Lachlan Tijsen each with three goals were Maranui's leading goal scorers.

19 Apr 2009 Hutt Heat again in rampant form
Hutt Heat were again in rampant form in their National Mens League encounter with the visiting Tauranga Taniwhas at the Huia Pool Lower Hutt.

Hutt put 23 goals on the Taniwhas to win the match 23-9. Hutt started cautiously leading 6-3 in the first quarter but moved it out to 10-3 at the half break. From that point Hutt had the match well under control and cruised to a 14 point advantage.

Adam Pye again top scored for the Heat with 9 goals to add to last weekends 10 . Clint McLaughlin netted 5. Kurt Wilson and Richard Williams slotted 3 each past the Hutt goalkeeper to be Tauranga's leading pair.

The win put Hutt into the competition lead but with games in hand North Harbour in second spot on the table still are the only unbeaten team.

Next weekend sees Marist ( twice), Waitakere, North Harbour and Harbour City in action, with Hutt and Maranui squaring off Friday night in a Wellington derby.

Two weeks from now sees a big weekend with QE11 and Harbour City moving to Auckland for games whilst Hutt take on Tauranga in Tauranga.
